Mark D. Jacobson, M.D.
Fellowship Trained, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Jacobson has more than 20 years of experience as an orthopedic physician treating both adult and pediatric patients and conditions, including the treatment of fractures, sports injuries and joint reconstruction, including arthroscopic knee replacement.

A native of La Mesa, he is the past chief of orthopedic surgery at Alvarado Hospital. He is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons and member of the California Orthopedic Association and San Diego County Medical Society.

Dr. Jacobson is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Medicine in Los Angeles and completed an orthopedic surgical residency at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

He received his post-graduate medical training as an Orthopedic Research Fellow at the Department of Orthopedics Biomechanics and Muscle Physiology at UCSD.


Roman B. Cham, M.D.
Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Cham brings more than 32 years of experience to Alvarado Hospital, treating both joint injuries and degenerative conditions such as arthritis.

A native of La Mesa, he is a current member of the Western Orthopedic Association and California Orthopedic Association. He previously served as a member of the Prince George’s County Medical Society in Maryland, Society of Orthopedic Rehab and Occupational Medicine Specialists, and Metropolitan Washington, DC, Orthopedic Association.

Dr. Cham received his post-graduate medical training as an orthopedic resident at the State University of New York at Buffalo and was a surgical intern at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, New York.
